Impacts of feral pigs on the Wide Bay Burnett region

Category
Project

NCEconomics was engaged by Wide Bay Burnett Regional Organisation of Councils (WBBROC) to study the effects that feral pigs have in the area, with a focus on agricultural losses and damages. This involved a review of a pilot survey instrument, a comprehensive literature review, industry consultations, and cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analyses (CBA). WBBROC also required the development of a CBA tool to help inform investment into feral pig control measures.

These results have implications for the implementation of feral pig controls measures in the region and provide consideration for feral pig and other pest control strategies in a wider context.
