ROUNDTABLE ON INTEGRATION OF SCIENCE AND ECONOMICS

NCE was invited to contribute to this roundtable facilitated by Professor Quentin Grafton. The roundtable brought together members of The Economics and Science Group. The discussion focus was on how decision-making must connect policy priorities to an expert knowledge base and an understanding of bio-physical and socio-economic systems in Australia, the region and globally. Key representatives included; Professor Sir John Beddington (United Kingdom’s former Chief Scientist), Dr Alan Finkel – Australia’s Chief Scientist, and Professor Sir Peter Gluckman – New Zealand’s Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor.
