Sophie brings together insights and experience from different sectors and projects to solve complex problems. Prior to joining Natural Capital Economics, she worked for the Queensland government as an applied economist advising on issues relating to Queensland water businesses, water pricing and governance, and water policy more generally.
Sophie’s experience spans across the water, environment, agriculture, recreation, waste, and transport sectors. She also worked for several years in the UK providing economic advice to the UK government on new protected areas and green infrastructure.
Sophie’s work includes policy development and evaluation, cost benefit analysis, non-market valuation, regulatory pricing, business case and regulatory impact statement development, and institutional governance and review.
